Laptop Compatibility Guide
Find the right replacement part for your laptop with confidence. Learn how to identify your exact laptop model, check compatibility and compare important details before placing an order.
A keyboard, cooling fan, DC jack, hinge or cable may look similar to your original part but still have a different connector or mounting design. Start with your exact model rather than guessing.
How to find the correct laptop part
Identify your laptop
Find the manufacturer, complete model name and any additional product or machine-type information.
Check compatibility
Use the Regait Laptop Part Finder to select your brand, series and exact model, then review the matching products.
Compare the part
Check relevant connectors, dimensions, layout, mounting points and colour before ordering.
How to find your exact laptop model
The model name is often printed on a label on the underside of the laptop. You may also find it in system information, BIOS/UEFI, the original packaging or purchase documents.
Check the laptop label
- Turn the laptop over and check the manufacturer's label.
- Look for Model, Product Name, Product Number or Machine Type.
- Record the complete model designation, including letters and suffixes.
- Do not confuse the laptop model with its serial number or the part number.
If the label is missing
- Check your computer's system information or BIOS/UEFI.
- Review the original box, invoice or purchase records.
- Use the manufacturer's official support page if you need help identifying the device.
- If unsure, contact Rega IT with the model information you have.

Laptop model vs. spare-part number
Laptop model
Identifies the laptop family or a particular model/configuration.
Example: HP 15-DA0002TU
Spare-part reference
Identifies a component or assembly. It may be printed on the original part or included in a product description.
Example: a manufacturer's part number.
Examples are illustrative. Always use the model and part references that actually apply to your laptop and replacement component.
Before you place an order
- Do not select a part based only on the laptop brand.
- Do not assume every laptop in the same series uses identical parts.
- Do not assume a visually similar component is compatible.
- Do not ignore keyboard layout, connector position, colour or mounting points when those details matter.
- Do not treat a part number as the only compatibility check.
- Read the product description and review the images before checkout.
Laptop compatibility FAQs
Can I find a spare part using only my laptop brand?
The brand is a useful starting point, but you should identify the exact laptop model and check the relevant product details before ordering.
What if I cannot find my exact model in the selector?
Do not select a different model just to continue. Contact Rega IT with your complete model information and, if possible, a clear photo of the original part so the match can be checked.
Can two laptops from the same series use different parts?
Yes. Different configurations, revisions and assembly designs can require different replacement components.
What if the replacement part number differs from my original?
A different reference number does not by itself prove that a replacement is incompatible. Check the exact model compatibility and relevant physical and electrical specifications.
What if I cannot remove the original part?
Do not disassemble the laptop if you are unsure how to do so safely. Start with the laptop's model label and seek qualified assistance where necessary.
Can Rega IT help me identify the correct part?
Yes. Share the complete laptop model and clear photos of the original part where available. Include connector, cable and label details when relevant.
